Senior Statutory Accountant, France Market

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Slovakia.

📋 Description

• Lead the preparation and evaluation of statutory financial statements and disclosures for entities operating in French.

• Coordinate statutory audit processes and serve as the main point of contact for external auditors and local stakeholders.

• Ensure adherence to French GAAP, IFRS, and local regulatory reporting requirements.

• Analyze and address intricate accounting, statutory reporting, and compliance issues.

• Collaborate with tax, legal, controllership, and wider finance teams regarding local statutory and compliance responsibilities.

• Supervise and assess balance sheet reconciliations, statutory documentation, and audit timelines.

• Propel process enhancements, standardization, and automation throughout statutory reporting workflows.

• Offer mentorship, technical advice, and knowledge transfer to team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in statutory accounting, financial reporting, or external auditing within an international or shared services context.

• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and statutory accounting standards.

• Experience in preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements and managing comprehensive statutory audits.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Hands-on experience with SAP or similar enterprise ERP systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders effectively.

• Preferred professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA, DSCG, or equivalent.

• Preferred experience with French legal entities and understanding of French statutory compliance requirements.

• Previous experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or a global multinational corporation is preferred.

• Preferred experience in finance transformation, process standardization, or automation initiatives.
