Senior Statistician – STEM Workforce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the principal investigator or co-principal investigator for statistical research proposals focused on science and technology indicators.

• Develop methodologies for surveys, sampling, estimation, and measurement.

• Combine federal survey microdata and administrative data concerning R&D, STEM education, and the STEM workforce.

• Oversee data quality, documentation, and practices to avoid disclosure.

• Compose sections on methodology, analysis, and data management.

• Provide qualifications and narratives of past performance for WIL proposals upon approval of naming.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in survey statistics, official statistics, or research related to science and technology indicators.

• Familiarity with extensive federal survey microdata or administrative datasets.

• Skilled in R, SAS, Stata, or Python.

• Published works or technical reports showcasing research leadership.

• Able to work as a project-based contract collaborator; remote positions available within the US.

• PhD preferred in statistics, survey methodology, economics, or a related discipline.

• Previous experience with or for a federal statistical agency.

• Experience in small-area estimation or disclosure avoidance.
