Senior Statistician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Become a part of Avar Consulting, a subsidiary of AMDEX Corporation, specializing in comprehensive data solutions.

• Provide support to US federal government clients in areas including education, labor, veterans’ affairs, and various projects.

• Execute technical quality assessments of research and evaluation outputs.

• Determine if research and evaluation outputs adhere to established statistical standards, guidelines, and policies.

• Conduct empirical social science research along with complex statistical and economic analyses utilizing large datasets.

• Review and enhance research, survey, evaluation, and analytical designs.

• Perform web-based research.

• Create pertinent technical research deliverables.

• Present findings and recommendations both orally and in written form.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of technical methodologies used for research and analysis regarding labor and program evaluation.

• At least five years of experience in conducting empirical social science research.

• Familiarity with the US Department of Labor agencies and programs, as well as evaluation and research initiatives, is preferred.

• Previous experience in facilitating collaborative projects among federal agencies is preferred.

• Strong abilities in statistical and economic analysis.

• Proven experience in carrying out complex statistical analyses using large datasets.

• Advanced understanding of evaluation, statistical, and sampling methods and techniques.

• Capability to identify and propose enhancements to evaluation and survey designs and analytical projects.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Proficiency in statistical software such as R, Python, STATA, and SAS.

• Ability to conduct web research effectively.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with the Paperwork Reduction Act is desirable but not essential.

• An advanced degree in an applied quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, criminology, economics, or a related social science discipline.

• Relevant technical research outputs showcasing applied experience.

• A Ph.D. is preferred.

• Ideally, have at least one scholarly peer-reviewed publication in an academic journal.

• Must be a US citizen or a permanent resident.
