Senior Statistical Programmer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Assist with Emerald Clinical projects through statistical programming as instructed by senior management or an Emerald Clinical Statistician.

• Assume the lead programmer position and guide junior statistical programmers.

• Plan, coordinate, and execute programming for intricate studies.

• Review statistical analysis plans and mock shells.

• Develop, test, and document statistical programs for tables, figures, and listings.

• Create and write specifications for SDTM datasets.

• Develop and write specifications for analysis datasets, including efficacy datasets and transfer files.

• Generate metadata representations of regulatory-specific and analysis datasets.

• Conduct peer reviews of outputs produced by junior statistical programmers.

• Establish quality control checks for source data and periodically report data issues.

• Produce randomization lists.

• Recruit qualified and experienced clinical operations personnel and assign them to project teams.

• Provide advanced technical expertise and independently deliver project solutions to statistical programming teams for complex studies.

• Fulfill technical team lead duties for individual complex studies or groups of studies.

• Communicate with data management, project management, client statisticians, and client team members regarding requirements and timelines.

• Estimate programming workload, manage resource assignments, communicate project status, and negotiate or renegotiate delivery timelines.

• Participate in RFPs and bid defense meetings.

• Utilize and advocate for established standards, SOPs, and best practices.

• Complete mandatory training and attend required training sessions.

• Identify resources and training to support learning and development.

• Adhere to relevant regulations, guidelines, SOPs, project requirements, and designated systems.

• Conduct quality control and report or escalate risks and issues.

• Engage in Emerald and internal meetings and activities.

• Contribute to systems, tools, and processes aimed at continuous improvement.

• Share knowledge to enhance organizational learning and development.

• Comply with WH&S legislation and organizational procedures.

• Foster and contribute to a safe, secure environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in a related scientific field.

• At least 6 years of experience in statistical programming using SAS.

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in a CRO environment.

• Proficiency in SAS technology.

• Skilled in Microsoft Office packages.

• A strong desire and motivation to learn and develop, including sharing knowledge with others.

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and assist other team members.

• Capability to maintain a comprehensive view while paying attention to detail and work quality.

• Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing organizational priorities and ambiguous situations.

• Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
