Senior Staff Technical Risk Architect, Unified Training

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the architecture for the comprehensive trading platform, which encompasses the sequencer, low-latency connectivity, messaging fabric, OMS/EMS, multi-venue connectivity, and execution.

• Create low-latency, high-throughput systems tailored for real-time financial products across both institutional and retail markets.

• Enhance reliability and performance by managing SLOs, observability, and incident response.

• Establish technical standards through code and design reviews, while also focusing on reducing technical debt.

• Mitigate single points of failure within the trading stack and foster team resilience through mentorship.

• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Security, and Compliance teams to convert technical vision into actionable roadmaps.

⛳️ Requirements

• A hands-on architect capable of designing, building, deploying, and supporting 24/7 trading systems that process billions of dollars in transactions daily.

• Significant backend engineering experience with complex, production-grade distributed systems.

• Proven history of architecting an end-to-end trading platform, inclusive of OMS, front/middle office, and multi-exchange connectivity.

• Advanced expertise in low-latency Java and high-throughput messaging technologies such as Aeron, SBE, or equivalents.

• Experience in designing event-driven, high-availability systems.

• Proven track record of delivering projects from start to finish: scoping, architecture, implementation, monitoring, and iteration.

• Experience in building systems within regulated or financial environments where accuracy, auditability, and low-latency performance are essential.

• Ability to make user-facing product decisions that balance engineering trade-offs with end-user quality, demonstrated through successful product launches.

• Responsible utilization of generative AI with human oversight to achieve business-ready outputs and measurable enhancements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
