Senior Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Define and guide the long-term technical strategy and architectural vision across various Enterprise engineering domains.

• Design, prototype, and oversee the implementation of complex, scalable, secure, and resilient software systems.

• Lead essential technical initiatives from discovery to delivery, ensuring alignment between architecture and execution with measurable business outcomes.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, and business leaders on technical roadmaps and investment proposals.

• Identify systemic architectural risks, performance limitations, and reliability issues, and develop sustainable solutions.

• Establish and refine engineering standards, architectural patterns, development methodologies, and quality expectations.

• Facilitate architecture and design reviews, assisting teams in assessing delivery, scalability, security, cost, and maintainability trade-offs.

• Mentor and uplift senior engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.

• Create and implement best practices and guidelines for AI-assisted software development and automation.

• Shape the technical culture through accountability, pragmatic decision-making, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial leadership in architecture and technical direction for complex production systems.

• Profound technical knowledge in modern software architecture, distributed systems, microservices, system design, data modeling, application programming interfaces, and cloud-native development.

• Extensive experience in designing, building, coding, and managing high-throughput, scalable, secure, reliable, and fault-tolerant production applications.

• Strong proficiency with cloud platforms (such as AWS, GCP), modern databases, service-oriented architectures, containerization, observability, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

• Proven track record of influencing technical strategy and aligning architectural direction across multiple engineering teams and stakeholders.

• Experience in evaluating complex technical trade-offs concerning system performance, reliability, security, cost, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

• Background in building or evolving B2B SaaS, vertical SaaS, or similar platforms tailored to increasingly complex customer segments and Enterprise-scale needs.

• Demonstrated experience in establishing AI-assisted development strategies, practices, and guidelines across teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Exceptional technical judgment and the capability to create clarity in ambiguous situations.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to influence decisions and lead complex initiatives without direct authority.
