Senior Staff Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with business leaders and product owners from the discovery phase to delivery, mapping workflows, identifying high-value AI opportunities, shaping roadmaps, and providing guidance on technical feasibility, costs, and risks.

• Create and deploy secure, production-grade AI solutions that encompass retrieval-augmented generation, structured data querying, unstructured data mining, and agentic workflows, ensuring integration with core systems of record.

• Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks, implement least-privilege access, and oversee ROI, cost attribution, and support plans for deployments.

• Enhance reusable building blocks, reference architectures, skills, and engineering playbooks while providing mentorship to team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 3 years specifically focused on AI and/or ML projects.

• Practical experience with modern AI architecture components, such as retrieval methods, reusable skill development, agentic orchestration, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration, and agent-to-agent (A2A) frameworks.

• A proven history of working directly with business stakeholders to conduct discovery sessions, translate ambiguous needs into actionable strategies, and communicate trade-offs, risks, costs, performance, and architecture considerations.

• Demonstrated expertise in securing AI systems and the underlying data, including implementing least-privilege access controls and defending against prompt injection, data leakage, and non-compliant outputs.

• A solid engineering foundation with proficiency in Python, experience deploying AI at scale on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), integrating across APIs, relational/vector databases, and enterprise systems, along with monitoring production drift and failure modes.

• Knowledge of memory management and long-term context architectures for AI agents.

• Direct experience with graph-based knowledge systems.

• Experience in establishing automated evaluation frameworks, such as LLM-as-judge methodologies or regression testing at scale for AI quality.
