Senior Staff Product Designer

📋 Description

• Evaluate Apollo's product interfaces comprehensively and pinpoint where design efforts yield the greatest impact.

• Propel design initiatives from conception to implementation.

• Spearhead the enhancement of fundamental developer experiences.

• Transform fragmented features into unified user experiences.

• Collaborate with engineering teams as an equal partner and influence development priorities.

• Establish design and craftsmanship standards embraced by designers, product managers, and engineers.

• Contribute design patterns to Apollo's design system.

• Assess the necessity for usability testing.

• Link design efforts to business metrics such as developer activation rates, time to first successful API call, and support costs.

• Assist in shaping the developer experience, onboarding processes, design systems, and AI agent interfaces.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in software design, showcasing a portfolio of completed projects.

• Proven experience in designing technically intricate products for technical users, including developer tools, infrastructure, data, security, identity, or APIs.

• Demonstrated ability to identify high-impact challenges and create comprehensive solutions.

• Strong visual design and craftsmanship capabilities.

• Capacity to work autonomously and transform ambiguous challenges into a clear vision.

• History of proactively identifying issues and fostering alignment with engineering teams.

• Preference for those who have delivered developer-centric experiences, API tools, or agent interfaces.

• Preferred background in engineering or development, including contributions to production code.

• Comfort with navigating between strategic thinking and detailed interaction/craft aspects is preferred.

• Experience working within and outside of design systems is preferred.

• Familiarity with AI design tools is preferred.

• Authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada is required.
