This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Conceptualize and implement mechanical systems for cutting-edge aerospace blue-sky platforms from initial design to actual operation.
β’ Lead hardware development throughout the entire product lifecycle, which encompasses concept, prototyping, testing, production, and field support.
β’ Engage in hands-on CAD work, engineering analysis, and testing activities.
β’ Design, evaluate, and integrate mechanical systems and subsystems, involving avionics packaging, harnessing, connector selection, and structural components.
β’ Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to guarantee that designs are manufacturable, testable, and dependable.
β’ Offer practical technical support during testing, demonstrations, and field operations.
β’ Diagnose mechanical issues and implement design solutions within tight deadlines.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
β’ 5 to 6 years of practical mechanical design experience in aerospace, ground support equipment, or similar ruggedized hardware systems.
β’ Proficient in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or comparable tools.
β’ Capable of producing detailed drawings, assemblies, and GD&T-compliant documentation.
β’ Strong knowledge base in structural design, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
β’ Experience executing engineering calculations including stress, thermal, tolerance stack-up, fatigue, and FEA where applicable.
β’ Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
β’ Preferred: proficiency in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods.
β’ Preferred: knowledge of ASME, ISO, ASTM, or relevant industry-specific regulatory standards.
β’ Preferred: understanding of MIL-STD requirements and environmental qualification testing.
β’ Preferred: familiarity with power distribution, hydraulics, or aerospace support systems.
β’ Preferred: experience collaborating with external suppliers or contract manufacturers.
