Senior Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop evaluation frameworks that manage agent releases

• Collaborate with compliance experts to create golden sets

• Compile regression suites utilizing production traces

• Execute drift detection to identify issues before customers are affected

• Create a platform that ensures reliable autonomous agents

• Separate state modeling from discovery time for compliance assertions

• Preserve continuous provenance from source systems to audit packages

• Design failure management that differentiates between passing, failing, and unknown states

• Work within tenant isolation and enterprise identity frameworks

• Tackle inference economics to enable ongoing monitoring at scale

• Model regulatory frameworks to ensure the affordability of additional frameworks

• Enhance agent-building methodologies throughout the organization

• Establish technical direction and impact engineers across Engineering, Product, Security, and CX

• Question architecture, agent design, and engineering norms

• Articulate decisions and rationale primarily through written communication

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in a production system where an LLM performed autonomous, multi-step actions with real data and users

• Proven track record of displacing manual tasks with the system

• Capable of explaining what the system replaced, including its costs, failure rates, and measurement methodologies

• Background in treating models as untrusted subsystems

• Familiarity with constrained outputs, independent verification, escalation thresholds, and clear model decision boundaries

• Expertise in at least two of the following areas: production LLM and agent systems; temporal and provenance data modeling; high-fan-out integration reliability; multi-tenant and enterprise identity; inference cost engineering; domain modeling for complex regulatory frameworks

• Over 10 years of software development experience

• At least 2 years of experience operating at a Staff level

• Proven ability to set technical direction followed by engineers outside of direct reporting lines

• Flexibility to navigate between architecture, addressing complex technical challenges, and facilitating successful delivery

• Openness to challenge architecture, agent design, and existing standards

• Ability to influence without formal authority across Engineering, Product, Security, and CX

• Strong written communication skills suitable for a remote-first work environment
