Senior Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Extract and analyze transactions from BigQuery, transform data within Google Sheets/Excel, and import both detailed and summarized entries into QuickBooks Online for the payments processing sector.

• Calculate, execute, and analyze monthly billing for the payments processing sector.

• Monitor and maintain accounts receivable associated with billing.

• Ensure timely drafting of customer payments and record AR payments in QuickBooks Online.

• Monthly reconciliation of payments processing activities by clinic and clinic consolidators.

• Investigate discrepancies and collaborate with Product and Revenue Teams to address differences.

• Manage designated month-end close responsibilities, including journal entries, accruals, and necessary schedules.

• Assist with month-end close tasks for the lending sector, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Act as a backup for daily and monthly lending reporting.

• Help prepare schedules for annual and other financial audits.

• Locate and provide auditor-requested support for testing procedures.

• Complete additional special projects assigned by the Director of Accounting/Controller.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Familiarity with US GAAP and accrual accounting principles.

• Practical experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Advanced Excel capabilities, including lookups, pivot tables, and handling large transaction files.

• Proficient in Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets, Docs, and Drive.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Experience with QuickBooks Online; Advanced version preferred, including bulk journal entry and transaction imports.

• Ability to write and execute queries in Google BigQuery or similar SQL tools.

• Experience in payments, merchant services, fintech, or lending industries.

• Familiarity with multi-currency accounting or Canadian operations.

• Experience using a loan servicing platform like LoanPro.

• Familiarity with Stripe or similar platforms.

• CPA certification or progress toward obtaining it.
