Senior Specialist, T2 – Target2 Payment Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of essential payment processes, such as SCT / SCT Inst recalls, investigations, SWIFT inquiries, missing or incoming funds, as well as rejects, returns, and refunds.

• Manage the daily operations of the T2 platform utilizing the T2 GUI (U2A/A2A).

• Oversee the maintenance of CRDM reference data.

• Establish four-eyes controls and delineate the manual versus automated processes.

• Oversee the migration from BNP Paribas to direct participation, ensuring the tracking of payments by BIC and path.

• Determine when BNPP-dependent steps can be phased out.

• Connect Payment Operations with the reconciliation team.

• Develop incident processes related to DNB, FIS, and TARGET escalation pathways.

• Manage Payment Operations' responsibilities in DNB reporting.

• Establish the ECONS II contingency strategy.

• Collaborate with the Eurosystem, DNB, SWIFT/NEXI, FIS, correspondent banks, as well as Product and Engineering teams.

• Design and document Payment Operations workflows.

• Validate processes during August UAT, transitioning BIC by BIC, and operate them as part of business-as-usual.

• Act as the operational contact for the T2 scheme, DNB, and partner banks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience with T2 / TARGET Services (RTGS, TIPS), including proficiency in the GUI and U2A/A2A actions.

• Approximately 2-3+ years of experience in payment operations at a bank, EMI, or PSP, preferably with SEPA schemes (SCT, SCT Inst).

• Knowledge of investigations, recalls, returns, and SWIFT / ISO 20022 messaging.

• Experience in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and controls, or the capacity to learn quickly.

• Comfortable collaborating with regulators, partners, and technical teams.

• Capable of making sign-off and escalation decisions with team support.

• Fluent in English.

• Nice to have: Experience with maintaining CRDM reference data.

• Nice to have: Engagement in a direct-participation onboarding or sponsor-bank migration.

• Nice to have: Understanding of DNB / TARGET-NL conditions, IPR, PSD2, or ECONS II contingency processes.
