Senior Specialist, T2 / Target2 Payment Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of essential payment processes, including SCT/SCT Inst recalls, investigations, SWIFT inquiries, missing or incoming funds, rejects, returns, and refunds.

• Manage the daily operations of the T2 platform using the T2 GUI (U2A/A2A).

• Oversee CRDM reference data management and implement four-eyes controls along with the manual versus automated division.

• Facilitate the transition from BNP Paribas to direct participation, ensuring payment traceability via BIC and path.

• Determine the retirement schedule for BNPP-dependent steps.

• Act as the Payment Operations liaison to the reconciliation team.

• Develop incident processes related to DNB, FIS, and TARGET escalation paths.

• Manage Payment Operations' responsibilities in DNB reporting and outline the ECONS II contingency strategy.

• Collaborate with the Eurosystem, DNB, SWIFT/NEXI, FIS, correspondent banks, Product, and Engineering teams.

• Design and document Payment Operations workflows, validate them during August UAT, execute BIC-by-BIC cutover, and maintain these processes as business-as-usual.

• Ensure all procedures are documented, UAT evidence is provided, Customer Support guidance is clear, and T2 operations are stable post-go-live.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with T2/TARGET Services (RTGS, TIPS), including the GUI and U2A/A2A functionalities.

• Approximately 2-3+ years of experience in payment operations within a bank, EMI, or PSP, preferably with SEPA schemes (SCT, SCT Inst).

• Knowledge of investigations, recalls, returns, and SWIFT/ISO 20022 messaging.

• Experience in writing SOPs and controls or a quick ability to learn this skill.

• Comfortable working with regulators, partners, and technical teams.

• Capable of making sign-off and escalation decisions with team support.

• Proficient in English.

• Nice to have: Experience in maintaining CRDM reference data.

• Nice to have: Participation in direct-participation onboarding or sponsor-bank migration.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with DNB/TARGET-NL conditions, IPR, PSD2, or ECONS II contingency processes.
