Senior Specialist, T2 / Target2 Payment Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee essential payment processes, including SCT / SCT Inst recalls, investigations, SWIFT queries, missing or incoming funds, rejections, returns, and refunds.

• Manage the daily operations of the T2 platform through the T2 GUI (U2A/A2A), maintain CRDM reference data, and establish four-eyes controls along with a manual versus automated split.

• Facilitate the transition from BNP Paribas to direct participation, ensuring that every payment is traceable via BIC and its respective path.

• Determine when BNPP-dependent processes can be phased out.

• Connect Payment Operations with the reconciliation team.

• Develop incident management processes regarding DNB, FIS, and TARGET escalation channels.

• Take ownership of Payment Operations’ contributions to DNB reporting and outline the ECONS II contingency strategy.

• Collaborate with the Eurosystem, DNB, SWIFT/NEXI, FIS, correspondent banks, and Product and Engineering teams.

• Create and document Payment Operations procedures, validate them during August UAT, transition BIC by BIC, and manage them in a business-as-usual context.

• Act as the operational liaison for the T2 scheme, DNB, and partner banks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with T2 / TARGET Services (RTGS, TIPS), including familiarity with the GUI and U2A/A2A functionalities.

• Approximately 2-3+ years of experience in payment operations at a bank, EMI, or PSP, preferably with SEPA schemes (SCT, SCT Inst).

• Understanding of investigations, recalls, returns, and SWIFT / ISO 20022 messaging.

• Proven experience in writing SOPs and controls, or the ability to learn quickly.

• Comfortable collaborating with regulators, partners, and technical teams.

• Capacity to make sign-off and escalation decisions with the backing of the team.

• Proficient in English.

• Nice to have: experience in maintaining CRDM reference data.

• Nice to have: experience with direct-participation onboarding or sponsor-bank migrations.

• Nice to have: knowledge of DNB / TARGET-NL conditions, IPR, PSD2, or ECONS II contingency processes.
