Senior Specialist, PCB Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and develop printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for circuit card assemblies (CCAs).

• Arrange components within a specified size envelope and connect metal traces between components.

• Conduct milestone reviews with design engineers and manufacturing process engineers.

• Release PCB and CCA schematics.

• Ensure that electrical and physical specifications align with design requirements.

• Verify that manufacturing and assembly prerequisites are satisfied.

• Create and produce drawings and documentation for PCB fabrication and assembly processes.

• Modify PCB designs in response to engineering design changes.

• Collaborate with the design team to propose solutions for issues.

• Revise drawings and documentation according to engineering change requests.

• Generate ECAD library footprints and/or schematic symbols as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 4 years of related experience.

• In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required.

• Several years of experience in PCB design or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in PCB design.

• Proficient skills and experience with ECAD software applications and their associated equipment.

• Specific experience with Siemens (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition software is preferred.

• Competent knowledge and experience in PCB design technologies, PCB layout techniques, electrical schematics, PCB fabrication, and assembly drawings is preferred.

• Practical understanding of IPC design standards, including design for manufacturability, and ASME/ANSI documentation standards is preferred.

• Familiarity with IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610 is preferred.

• IT experience in supporting backend management and maintenance of ECAD tools such as Siemens Xpedition and EDM.

• An Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or IPC CID certification is preferred.

• A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is advantageous.
