Senior Specialist, Global Infrastructure Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Implement, optimize, and automate database technologies such as Oracle Database, Oracle RAC, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Teradata both on-premises and in public cloud settings.

• Deploy and enhance Oracle GoldenGate technologies for real-time change data capture in on-premises and public cloud environments.

• Develop and sustain enterprise database solutions that support performance tuning, upgrades, clustering, redundancy, and disaster recovery.

• Act as a subject matter expert and primary technical escalation point for database technologies in on-premises and cloud environments.

• Collaborate with and serve as a liaison for end users and application developers, ensuring support for mission-critical applications.

• Ensure compliance with standards and procedures while developing and executing database platform installation, maintenance, and enhancement standards.

• Communicate availability, performance, interoperability, and cost trade-offs to both technical and executive audiences.

• Offer guidance and cross-training for team members.

• Collaborate with and oversee external technology vendors, system integrators, service providers, internal IT teams, and business units on projects and initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in setting up and optimizing Oracle RAC, OGG, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.

• Hands-on experience in fine-tuning SQL queries and optimizing indexes and plan management.

• Proven experience in executing projects, including planning and implementing both short- and long-term work plans while ensuring projects are completed on time.

• Experience in implementing enterprise database and cloud technologies.

• At least 3 years of experience with Linux/Unix platforms: RHEL, Solaris, or AIX.

• Experience in application and database performance tuning, capacity planning, and reporting.

• Practical troubleshooting experience with database issues.

• Experience in managing and coordinating with third-party system integrators and solution providers.

• Experience with clustered and high-availability systems.

• Solid understanding of Oracle RAC, OGG, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.

• Familiarity with cloud-based database technologies in Azure Cloud.

• Knowledge of IBM WebSphere Application Server, Apache Tomcat, or Oracle WebLogic is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Oracle Transportation Management, Oracle Business Intelligence, and Oracle ODI is a plus.

• Understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including server hardware, virtualization/VMware, networks, load balancers, firewalls, SAN storage, backups, databases, AD/LDAP, SSO, and OCI.
