Senior Specialist, Finance, Conservation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver exceptional financial business partnering, analytics, and grant support to designated WWF International Secretariat clients.

• Serve as the main finance contact and focal point for assigned clients within the Conservation Division and their grant portfolios.

• Cultivate a deep understanding of the business areas, strategies, and priorities of assigned clients.

• Offer financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to assist with planning, prioritization, and decision-making.

• Guide budget holders on effective budget management, forecasting, and financial performance.

• Aid in the development of business cases and change initiatives through thorough financial analysis.

• Enhance financial literacy among stakeholders who do not specialize in finance.

• Assist with annual business planning and regular forecasting efforts.

• Evaluate variances and performance drivers.

• Discover opportunities for sustainable cost optimization and efficient resource allocation.

• Prepare and assess financial reports for both management and donors.

• Support reviews of fundraising income and models for project funding.

• Provide comprehensive financial, accounting, and grant support throughout the entire grant life cycle.

• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, audits, financial controls, and risk mitigation strategies.

• Contribute to ongoing improvements, automation, efficiency initiatives, and financial reporting.

• Advocate for cost-effective practices, asset protection, and long-term sustainability.

• Collaborate with WWF International leadership, regional teams, finance teams, consultants, finance professionals, and auditors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a first degree or an equivalent qualification.

• Have 5 years of relevant experience.

• Proficient in analyzing extensive data sets and generating concise insight summaries.

• Strong financial analysis skills, preferably with an FP&A background.

• Experience in assisting with business cases and financial modeling is a plus.

• Maintain a commercial perspective on finance while understanding non-financial objectives.

• Exhibit financial leadership and the ability to align financial priorities effectively.

• Demonstrate effective decision-making and financial problem-solving abilities.

• Possess excellent collaboration skills across various departments and finance units.

• Show adaptability and flexibility in complex situations.

• Ability to influence senior managers to achieve desired financial performance outcomes.

• Skilled in networking and building relationships.

• Capable of effectively communicating complex financial information to audiences without a financial background.

• Ability to work independently within a large, complex organization.
