This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Lead a team of Sourcing Specialists located in India, overseeing Direct Material sourcing activities across MKS.
• Manage the broader sourcing portfolio, establishing priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring the achievement of cost, supply continuity, and business goals.
• Coordinate sourcing priorities based on business requirements, cost opportunities, NPI needs, supply risks, and Category Management directives.
• Empower Sourcing Specialists to carry out projects by providing clear priorities, requirements, resources, and support from stakeholders.
• Maintain transparency regarding sourcing initiatives, including their status, milestones, risks, resource limitations, decisions, and financial implications.
• Guarantee the consistent application of the 6-Gate Sourcing Process, sourcing standards, and approval protocols.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among Category Management, Engineering, Quality, NPI, Procurement, Should-Cost, Supplier Development, and other stakeholders.
• Offer commercial and sourcing expertise related to supplier evaluations, complex proposals, negotiations, and supplier selection.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, cost avoidance, localization, supplier diversification, dual sourcing, and mitigation of supply risks.
• Eliminate obstacles and act as an escalation point for complex supplier, commercial, and cross-functional challenges.
• Mentor and develop Sourcing Specialists while communicating portfolio performance, risks, opportunities, and decisions that need leadership attention.
• Report directly to the Global NPI and Sourcing Director.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–10+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or a related complex manufacturing setting.
• Profound experience in Direct Materials sourcing.
• In-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing, competitive bidding, supplier evaluation and selection, commercial negotiation, and sourcing governance.
• Experience in coordinating and prioritizing multiple sourcing initiatives based on business requirements, cost opportunities, complexity, and supply risks.
• Capability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders, manage competing priorities, eliminate barriers, and facilitate the resolution of escalations.
• Strong commercial and analytical abilities, including supplier negotiations, quotation and cost analysis, business cases, and total cost of ownership.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers, including machining, fabrication, and electromechanical assembly.
• Experience in supporting supplier transitions, qualification, cost reduction, localization, dual sourcing, and supply risk mitigation initiatives.
• Excellent judgment, coaching, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with global suppliers and teams, as well as proficiency in ERP/PLM and project management tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% as necessary.
• Ability to work remotely with the flexibility to accommodate meetings across different global time zones.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree or MBA.
• Preferred: Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certification or experience.
• Preferred: Professional certification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Sourcing, or Project Management.
• Certain positions may require compliance with export control regulations and governmental licensing.
