Senior Solutions Engineer, Injection Molding

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Facilitate discovery discussions with the Sales team to identify both business and technical needs and align them with Xometry's solutions.

• Act as the technical intermediary between molding teams and clients.

• Advise prospects and clients on the suitable applications of Xometry technology and develop the business case.

• Showcase Xometry's capabilities, including its software quoting platform, to engineers and executives.

• Collaborate with product, sales, quoting, and engineering teams; incorporate customer insights into the business and assist in the creation of case studies and marketing materials.

• Represent Xometry as an industry thought leader at events, webinars, and within the injection molding community.

• Be the internal expert on injection molding and related processes, including tooling, mold design, and process capability.

• Oversee project management for complex opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid manufacturing and process background in injection molding, compression molding, overmolding, and insert molding; hands-on, floor-level experience is highly preferred.

• At ease in in-depth technical discussions with mold designers and capable of presenting to executives.

• Possess technical empathy and the ability to bridge the gap between technical and business terminology.

• Consultative mindset.

• Proficient in preparing and presenting technical solutions as part of business proposals.

• Self-driven and adept at managing several long-term projects with minimal supervision in a fast-paced startup setting.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a knack for building relationships.

• Engineering degree (Mechanical or Plastics preferred) or a related technical qualification.

• 5-7+ years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or technical role.

• Proven project management and presentation skills.

• Experience with CAD and technical drawings.

• Proficient in areas such as New Product Development, Materials Science, Plastics Engineering, GD&T, Mold Design, ISO Certifications, PPAP, and Inspection.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of English.

• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
