Senior Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Act as the main technical resource for the Account Executive team.

• Convey product and technical knowledge through presentations, product demonstrations, and technical assessments (Proof of Values).

• Comprehend client needs and challenges to design suitable solutions.

• Assist clients throughout the sales-cycle trials and Proof of Values.

• Foster positive customer relationships and deliver ongoing value.

• Collaborate with Account Executives to identify customer challenges and express Sumo Logic’s value proposition, vision, and strategy.

• Technically finalize complex opportunities utilizing competitive insights, technical expertise, and credibility.

• Manage all stages of the sales cycle and lead technical validations during the Proof of Value phase.

• Collaborate with executives, developers, and Site Reliability Engineers.

• Present product and technical demonstrations of the Sumo Logic service.

• Work alongside Product Management and Engineering to enhance the service based on customer feedback.

⛳️ Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; M.S. is preferred.

• Over 5 years of experience as a Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Implementation Consultant, Support Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or Software Developer with relevant customer/project experience.

• Practical knowledge of security products and technologies, including IDS/IPS, SIEM/Log Management, Network/Endpoint Security, Threat Detection, Incident Response, MSSP/MDR, Threat Feeds, and CASB.

• Experience with open-source collections such as Telegraf, FluentBit, FluentD, and OpenTelemetry is preferred.

• Experience in leading technical validations like Proof of Value is preferred.

• Familiarity with selling and working with pure SaaS solutions in multi-tenant architectures.

• Experience with AWS, GCP, and Microsoft Azure; certification is preferred.

• Comprehensive technical infrastructure background, including servers, networking devices, and storage.

• Understanding of modern application architecture, including microservices and containers; experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Lambda is preferred.

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Elastic, and New Relic is preferred.

• Experience in a successful startup environment is preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong business and technical acumen.
