Senior Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable advisor for GitLab customers and prospects in Japan.

• Articulate how GitLab's AI-driven DevSecOps platform meets business objectives and technical needs.

• Assist customers in assessing the value of GitLab and making knowledgeable adoption choices.

• Facilitate ongoing adoption, explore new use cases, and promote expansion into additional products and editions.

• Conduct structured discovery sessions to comprehend customer priorities, processes, challenges, stakeholders, and success metrics.

• Collaborate with Account Executives to devise account strategies and customer action plans.

• Lead demonstrations, workshops, proofs of concept or value, architecture design, and technical validation efforts.

• Develop DevSecOps and AI-enhanced development roadmaps throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Organize the migration of continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines from Jenkins to GitLab.

• Address post-sale adoption issues and pinpoint opportunities for expansion.

• Cultivate relationships with developers as well as business and technical leaders.

• Clarify GitLab's competitive advantages and tackle objections regarding tools, AI capabilities, costs, and migration efforts.

• Produce proposals, architecture diagrams, proof-of-value plans, executive materials, technical documentation, and success narratives.

• Present at webinars and marketing events.

• Relay customer feedback and competitive insights to Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams.

• Engage hands-on with GitLab, AI, DevSecOps, and cloud technologies.

• Guide team members and disseminate best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, consulting, technical sales, or a similar customer-facing position, utilizing structured discovery, value selling, stakeholder mapping, and consensus building.

• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, DevSecOps, security, and cloud technologies.

• Experience with GitLab or similar platforms for source control, continuous integration and continuous delivery, and developer collaboration.

• Proven experience in leading demos, workshops, proofs of concept or value, technical proposals, or solution architecture design.

• Capability to discuss deployment, security, and operations with technical teams of customers.

• Proficiency in conveying technical trade-offs and business value to developers, technical leaders, and executives.

• Ability to work with Account Executives on strategy for opportunities, adoption, and expansion.

• Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation and Model Context Protocol.

• Competence in mentoring team members, sharing reusable knowledge, and providing and receiving feedback with empathy and respect for others' expertise.

• Fluency in Japanese and professional working proficiency in English.

• A background in software development, systems integration, or project or product management is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Additional valuable experience may include developer productivity, cloud-native technologies, enterprise platform governance and rollout, post-sales recommendations, consumption-based models, or creating reusable technical content.
