Senior Solution Architect, Data & AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architectural strategy and technical governance for enterprise cloud modernization projects.

• Develop target-state architectures, migration roadmaps, and transition strategies for AWS-to-GCP transformation initiatives.

• Create enterprise cloud architecture standards, design principles, reference architectures, and reusable frameworks.

• Lead efforts in technology rationalization, platform modernization, and the reduction of technical debt within data and analytics ecosystems.

• Manage the migration of data platforms, data products, analytics workloads, and AI solutions to GCP.

• Formulate migration strategies, landing zones, modernization patterns, and workload transition frameworks.

• Advise engineering teams on migration best practices, risk management, and operational preparedness.

• Ensure the migration of applications, data pipelines, warehouses, lakehouse platforms, and AI services with minimal disruption.

• Establish governance for migration, including review processes and architecture quality standards.

• Design scalable and secure GCP data lakes, lakehouses, analytics, and AI platforms.

• Set standards for data integration, batch and streaming pipelines, API enablement, metadata management, governance, and data quality.

• Guide architectural decisions regarding BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataproc, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and other GCP services.

• Support initiatives in AI, machine learning, generative AI, and advanced analytics through platform design and governance.

• Facilitate the creation of reusable AI-ready data products and shared platform capabilities.

• Direct architecture reviews and design governance processes.

• Assess solution designs for scalability, security, reliability, availability, performance, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to establish cloud security, compliance, privacy, and operational standards.

• Promote FinOps and strategies for cloud cost optimization.

• Partner with business, product, engineering, cloud platform, security, and operations teams.

• Provide guidance for cloud transformation initiatives and engage with executive stakeholders.

• Mentor architects and engineering teams on GCP architecture, cloud-native design, and modernization practices.

• Develop organizational capabilities and foster long-term GCP architectural expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related technical field.

• Over 10 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Cloud Architecture, or Data Platform Architecture.

• More than 5 years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale cloud solutions on GCP, AWS, or Azure.

• Proficient knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC, and Monitoring.

• Familiarity with Lakehouse Architectures, Data Warehousing, Data Integration, Streaming, and Data Governance.

• Experience with Vertex AI, Machine Learning Platforms, Generative AI, and MLOps.

• Proficiency in Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Observability.

• Understanding of Enterprise Architecture, Architecture Review Boards, Reference Architectures, and Technology Standards.

• Proven success in governing large-scale data, analytics, and AI platforms.

• Experience working within global organizations and influencing cross-functional technology teams.
