This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Transform business requirements into comprehensive enterprise solution architectures.
• Provide guidance to project teams and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) while ensuring consistency with enterprise standards, governance, and technology roadmaps.
• Create and sustain logical, physical, integration, security, data, and infrastructure architecture documentation.
• Assess solution alternatives and propose implementation strategies based on business value, technical feasibility, cost, risk, and operational factors.
• Ensure that solution designs adhere to enterprise architecture principles, standards, policies, and regulatory obligations.
• Take ownership of architecture reviews, present solution designs, address governance issues, and obtain architectural approval.
• Recognize and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, constraints, and implementation challenges throughout project lifecycles.
• Design integration strategies across applications, platforms, infrastructure, data sources, and external partners.
• Foster collaboration with cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, network, and application teams.
• Document architecture choices, technical assumptions, and implementation directions.
• Contribute to architectural methodologies, templates, standards, and reusable design patterns.
• Share insights, best practices, and lessons learned with project teams and fellow architects.
• Stay current with technologies, platforms, and vendor solutions.
• Promote secure, sustainable, and supportable solutions that enhance business value while reducing complexity and technical debt.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• A minimum of twelve years of experience in solution architecture, application architecture, infrastructure architecture, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least eight years of experience in designing and implementing intricate business and technology solutions across various technology domains.
• Proven experience leading architecture activities throughout the solution delivery lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational transition.
• Hands-on expertise in a minimum of three technical disciplines such as application development, cloud platforms, systems integration, infrastructure services, data management, cybersecurity, networking, or enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of architecture governance processes and active participation in architecture review and design authority functions.
• Mastery level knowledge of solution architecture principles, design methodologies, and systems integration practices.
• Experience in designing solutions that leverage cloud services, SaaS platforms, APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and hybrid environments.
• Familiarity with application, data, integration, security, and infrastructure architecture domains and their interrelations within end-to-end solutions.
• Ability to independently assess technology options and formulate solution recommendations based on functionality, cost, risk, supportability, and alignment with business needs.
• Mastery level understanding of non-functional requirements including security, resiliency, scalability, performance, maintainability, and disaster recovery.
• TOGAF Foundation or Certification.
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent cloud certifications.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• SAFe Architect, SAFe Agilist, or other Agile-related certifications.
• Eligibility for or capability to obtain authorization for access to Canadian-controlled hardware, software, technical information, and the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
• Ability to acquire a Canadian NATO Secret clearance.
