Senior Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +25 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, configure, and resolve issues for solutions in both upcoming and ongoing programs.

• Take full responsibility for the end-to-end technical solution design for designated programs, encompassing data-driven and enterprise information systems architecture.

• Convey the technical vision to customers and stakeholders effectively.

• Implement solutions hands-on, collaborating with delivery engineers.

• Lead and assist in customer-oriented proofs of concept and pilot projects.

• Provide technical insights and solution design specifics for RFIs, RFPs, and other solicitation responses.

• Assess technical feasibility within platform architecture and delivery limitations.

• Document gap analyses and convert them into actionable delivery requirements.

• Manage intricate technology implementations with an emphasis on simplification, refactoring, and minimizing unnecessary complexity.

• Design and deploy solutions across data, data-centric applications, and cloud architectures tailored for federal health IT programs.

• Ensure alignment of architecture and technical design decisions with Commence Platform standards.

• Collaborate with Technical Delivery Managers, Technical BAs, Data Architects, Security, and program leadership to adhere to compliance, security, and delivery schedules.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Experience in federal health programs, including CMS, VA, or DHA.

• At least ten years of experience leading the architecture of complex data pipelines, cloud, or enterprise application systems.

• Six or more years of practical, data-centric software development experience across intricate architectures, including cloud-native data platforms and analytics stacks.

• Demonstrated experience in designing secure solutions involving PHI and PII, along with the associated governance requirements.

• Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks, such as FISMA, IL4+, and CMMC.

• Experience in resolving architectural challenges that impact scalability and performance for large-scale systems.

• Experience with rapid prototyping and greenfield initiatives within Agile or SAFe delivery frameworks.

• Proven experience in collaborating directly with customers and internal stakeholders to present solutions and facilitate adoption.

• Proficiency with Atlassian Jira and Confluence or similar delivery tools.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Capacity to hold a Public Trust clearance.

• Preferred: Experience with applied AI/ML or generative AI within enterprise architectures, including model orchestration, RAG, and agentic workflows.

• Preferred: Certifications in cloud or data platforms, such as AWS or Databricks.

• Preferred: Knowledge of healthcare data standards, including HL7 FHIR, X12, ICD-10, and CPT.
