Senior Software Engineer – Web

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Become a member of the Post Purchase Experience (PPX) team, responsible for managing essential post-purchase journeys for millions of diners and partners across various web ecosystems.

• Oversee web-facing projects from inception to completion.

• Collaborate with counterparts in Mobile, Backend, Product, Design, and Data Science.

• Facilitate feature delivery utilizing modern feature flagging strategies.

• Serve as a web steward for the wider Diner Web ecosystem.

• Contribute to and manage web properties such as Diner Web, Delivery Tracking (Web DaaS), notification templates, and PPX BFF integration.

• Take charge of projects by analyzing product briefs and conducting spike investigations, followed by technical specifications, rollout, and post-launch evaluations.

• Define JSON contracts and API endpoints in collaboration with Backend teams.

• Create custom metrics, telemetry, and Datadog dashboards in partnership with the Product team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on modern web applications (React, Next.js, TypeScript, or similar frameworks).

• Demonstrated experience in transforming complex features from product design (Figma) and API contract definition through to build, release, and post-launch telemetry.

• Practical experience with feature management platforms such as DevCycle, LaunchDarkly, or Optimizely for controlled rollouts and A/B testing.

• Experience in establishing production observability using Datadog, Sentry, or comparable tools.

• Familiarity with on-call rotations and managing production incidents (SEVs).

• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Comfort in leading discussions across Web, Mobile, Backend, Product, Design, and QA teams.

• Experience with Backend-For-Frontend (BFF) architectures or Node.js services is a plus.

• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as Spinnaker, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions, as well as web deployment pipelines, is an advantage.

• A background in e-commerce, food delivery, logistics, or real-time tracking systems is beneficial.
