Senior Software Engineer, Web

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement features using React and TypeScript, encompassing screens, routing, and state management.

• Create workflows tailored for learners, teachers, Berlitz staff, and representatives from enterprise customers.

• Collaborate with the backend team to co-design and consume typed API contracts.

• Execute backend modifications, introduce new endpoints, and troubleshoot issues spanning the frontend and backend.

• Manage web delivery from coding to production, which includes build configuration, bundling, versioning, environment promotion, and release management.

• Take ownership of load and interaction performance, ensuring responsive design and compliance with WCAG-level accessibility standards.

• Initiate and utilize the platform team’s GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline.

• Seamlessly integrate Claude Code into GitHub and daily development practices.

• Advocate for and implement best practices focusing on type safety, testing, and accessibility.

• Collaborate across functional teams with backend and platform teams in an agile engineering environment.

• Mentor colleagues and align efforts with parallel engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in frontend development.

• Proven success in delivering production web applications to actual users.

• Extensive experience with React and TypeScript in production environments, including modern rendering and data-fetching techniques.

• Knowledge in designing API contracts, developing endpoints, and understanding data models.

• Experience in creating consumer-facing processes and role-based internal or B2B tools, such as dashboards, admin screens, and reporting functionalities.

• Hands-on experience managing the end-to-end web release engineering process, which includes build pipelines, versioning, staged rollouts, and post-release monitoring.

• Familiarity with frontend performance optimization, responsive design, and accessibility standards.

• Proficient in using GitHub for version control, code reviews, and collaborative efforts.

• Understanding of shared design-system utilization, client-side state management patterns, and typed API contracts.

• Strong communication skills to effectively mentor peers and coordinate with parallel engineering teams.

• Experience with React Native in a production setting, preferably with Expo’s managed workflow and the New Architecture (considered a strong plus).

• Background in signed builds, app versioning, and app store submissions, including TestFlight/Play internal tracks, reviews, and staged rollouts (considered a strong plus).
