Senior Software Engineer – Tools

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop automation and services mainly utilizing Python to manage and evaluate the Ocient distributed database system and its integrations.

• Collaborate closely with internal teams to comprehend their requirements and create tools that address those needs.

• Sustain and enhance tools for performance testing and analysis purposes.

• Ensure automation processes maintain reproducibility in testing.

• Generate documentation to assist future maintainers.

• Create clear runbooks for developers' reference.

• Contribute extensively to enhancing the developer experience and associated tooling.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in the industry.

• Over 4 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Proven growth mindset and capability to swiftly learn new programming languages and systems.

• Strong understanding of systems thinking and software fundamentals.

• Proficient in working with Linux, including shell tools, debugging applications, and CI systems.

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

• Solid familiarity with advanced features of Python and type annotations.

• Skills in data collection and analysis.

• Experience with operating and/or fine-tuning a distributed database system.

• Familiarity with managing test infrastructure, including infrastructure as code tools.

• Must reside in the United States.

• Required to download and install the HackerRank Desktop Application.

• Must partake in video interviews with the camera on; video filters, face-altering effects, and virtual backgrounds are not allowed.
