Senior Software Engineer – SRE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with product teams to enhance operational maturity through on-call duties, monitoring, alerting, and runbook practices.

• Conduct regular game day simulations with product teams.

• Apply reliability techniques within Haskell and TypeScript application code, including retries, enhanced error handling, logging, and circuit breaking.

• Guide Service Level Objectives (SLOs) toward significant customer outcomes.

• Promote reliability practices through design documentation and code reviews.

• Detect and address observability gaps that impact debugging, incident management, and business intelligence.

• Support long-term enhancements initiated by non-product engineering teams.

• Engage in product-team or general engineering on-call rotations and refine incident-learning processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps.

• Demonstrable examples of guiding an organization towards improved reliability.

• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL.

• Proficient in authoring and managing Temporal workflows.

• Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana or Honeycomb.

• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry.

• Ability to work in San Francisco, New York, Portland, or remotely within Canada or the United States.
