Senior Software Engineer, SAP ABAP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Execute SAP development tasks to enhance or introduce functionalities within the SAP environment, focusing on HANA/ABAP financial modules.

• Engage in implementation design and development to facilitate the adoption of new SAP solutions.

• Provide Clean Core technical solutions that meet business needs and adhere to NBCU development standards.

• Create SAP HANA CDS views, OData services, SQL objects, and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDPs).

• Implement Clean Core principles, classifications, and conduct ABAP Test Cockpit evaluations.

• Utilize RAP and key-user extensibility frameworks for compliant customizations.

• Assist with integration, troubleshooting, debugging, and enhancements across SAP Financial, Procurement, Subledger, and related systems.

• Adhere to IT and SAP methodologies, software development lifecycle practices, and change-control procedures.

• Collaborate with onsite and offshore teams, product teams, business stakeholders, and engineering partners.

• Offer production support, including availability outside standard business hours and weekends when necessary.

• Manage tasks across multiple projects with stringent deadlines while ensuring quality and a focus on problem-solving.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on information technology, or an equivalent combination of education and training.

• Over 3 years of hands-on SAP experience, demonstrating strong skills in SAP Suite on HANA and S/4HANA.

• Proven experience as a Developer or Senior Developer on more than three projects.

• Proficiency in SAP HANA CDS view and OData service development, including SQL and AMDPs.

• Understanding of SAP Clean Core principles, released APIs, in-app extensibility, key-user extensibility, Clean Core classifications, and ATC checks.

• Familiarity with the RAP programming model and Clean Core-compliant extensibility models.

• ECC development experience using BAdIs, BAPIs, LSMW, ALE, RFC calls, IDocs, BDC, business objects, classes and methods, Adobe Forms, Smart Forms, SAPscript, Data Dictionary, and ALV.

• ABAP debugging skills and experience with workflow processes.

• SAP BRIM experience, encompassing SOM, CM, CC, CI/FICA, and FICO.

• Participation in a complete BRIM deployment lifecycle, including design, build, testing, and support.

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA BRIM integration across SAP modules and ECC systems for business partner master data.

• Proficiency in S/4HANA development, including OData using CDS and AMDP, workflow support and debugging, SAP RAP and CAP, Native SQL, ADBC, External Views, ABAP Core Data Services, AMDP procedures, Text Search, and ALV on HANA.

• Experience migrating custom code from ECC or Suite on HANA to S/4HANA using technical remediation and Clean Core frameworks.

• Hands-on experience in creating custom CDS views and enhancing standard CDS views and AMDP classes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Desired: Experience with SAP Build, SAP Build Work Zone, embedded AI capabilities, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, SAP BTP Integration Suite, SAP Business Application Studio, SAP Build, integration tools, SAP technical certification, SAP HANA performance rules, and a flexible mindset for independent/team work, along with strong interpersonal skills and a self-starter attitude.
