Senior Software Engineer, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain FullFibre’s suite of Python microservices and web applications.

• Ensure that systems are dependable, efficient, and properly monitored.

• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to guarantee reliable deployment across Kubernetes clusters and other environments.

• Safeguard systems to protect customer data and privacy.

• Architect, develop, and define new systems, services, and integrations from inception to completion.

• Work alongside stakeholders to create and refine roadmaps and future deliverables.

• Provide support and mentorship to junior engineers.

• Develop web frontends for applications and internal tools.

• Integrate and configure SaaS and hosted platforms.

• Analyze and troubleshoot issues while designing future initiatives.

• Contribute to business data management, reporting outputs, data warehousing, and processing pipelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with modern (typed, async) Python.

• Proven experience working on live systems involving real customer data and services.

• Strong understanding of risk and change management principles.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and operations teams across various technical skill levels.

• Exceptional written communication skills and familiarity with asynchronous working environments.

• Extensive experience with Linux system and process administration.

• Proficiency in container technologies such as Docker.

• Experience working remotely in a fully distributed team setting.

• Degree-level qualification in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience with Kubernetes/Amazon EKS and GitOps/CI/CD workflows, including GitLab.

• Familiarity with frontend frameworks like VueJS and TypeScript or JavaScript/NodeJS.

• Experience with Rust and pyO3 or similar low-level programming languages.

• Knowledge of SQL database technologies such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.

• Experience with PySpark, Databricks, Delta Lake, or other data warehousing technologies.

• Background in distributed systems engineering, message/event buses like RabbitMQ, and RESTful API design.

• Understanding of operational and business support systems within the telecommunications sector.
