Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +5 more countries.

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes from intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, accuracy, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Leverage available tools and tailor workflows to enhance data collection, validation, and task execution.

• Consistently extract data from dynamic and interactive online sources, adjusting to JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting specifications, and systematic verification.

• Scale scraping activities for extensive datasets using effective batching or parallelization techniques.

• Monitor failures and ensure stability against minor modifications in site structure.

• Employ tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other relevant technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (mandatory).

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (mandatory).

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or comparable tools, as well as handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.

• Capability to extract data from intricate structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Experience in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets in formats such as CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.

• Familiarity with managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures on a large scale.

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) as part of real-world workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar, applied to automation tasks.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.
