AI Architect, Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Define the architectural framework for each project, encompassing skill decomposition, tool orchestration, data flow, integration methods, and deployment strategies.

• Ensure that the architecture adheres to security best practices and meets client specifications.

• Design tailored guardrails specific to client needs.

• Review and approve AI Workflow Engineer implementations against the established architectural framework.

• Manage integration architecture with client systems, covering authentication, data ingress, downstream deployment, and monitoring processes.

• Collaborate with Platform Engineering and Product to make decisions between platform and custom solutions.

• Create and document the desired technical state, transition strategy, and criteria for operational readiness.

• Take ownership of the technical risk register for engagements and escalate risks to the Delivery Principal as necessary.

• Serve as Technical Lead across various client engagements.

• Partner with the Delivery Principal to define scope, timelines, and assess technical feasibility.

• Present technical architecture to senior stakeholders within client organizations.

• Specify integration requirements and collaborate with the platform development team to implement integrations and connectivity.

• Guide AI Workflow Engineers in architectural decisions, prompt strategies, and design evaluations.

• Provide technical insights during commercial discussions and identify potential scope creep and platform-limit risks.

• Develop and mentor AI Workflow Engineers and Integration Engineers.

• Contribute to the Technical Lead community by sharing architectural patterns and technical playbooks.

• Mentor less experienced Technical Leads and assist in developing capabilities.

• Ensure compliance with client specifications, data protection regulations, security standards, and AiVA platform architectural guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, or enterprise integration.

• Proven history of leading complex technical architecture in client-facing delivery projects.

• Proficient and confident in presenting to senior technical audiences.

• Experience with AI or automation platforms at an enterprise level.

• Familiarity with agent frameworks, LLM APIs, and orchestration patterns.

• Cloud certification (preferably Azure; relevant AWS or GCP experience is also acceptable) or equivalent demonstrated cloud architecture experience.

• Strong background in integration engineering, including authentication, data pipelines, deployment infrastructure, and monitoring.

• Comfortable collaborating across different geographies and time zones.

• Experience in legal, professional services, or knowledge-worker environments is preferred but not mandatory.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
