Senior Software Engineer – Platform, Scala

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Construct, scale, deploy, and monitor the platform effectively using Scala, Python, MySQL, ClickHouse, Redis, Kafka, Qdrant, and Solr

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to establish requirements and execute feature development

• Enhance delivery processes, systems, and tools; advocate for technical initiatives and strategic direction

• Maintain project quality and planning by adhering to deadlines, deconstructing tasks, and ensuring thorough testing and monitoring

• Guide engineers by sharing knowledge and providing constructive feedback on pull requests and technical designs

• Gradually take ownership of and deliver features, from implementation and testing to final execution

• Engage in Agile methodologies, participate in technical design meetings, architecture discussions, and quarterly goal setting

• Oversee systems that process hundreds of thousands of messages on a daily basis

• Implement monitoring and alerting tools and contribute to initiatives aimed at system health

⛳️ Requirements

• 4 years of experience in developing and supporting software within a production environment

• 3 years of experience programming in object-oriented languages such as Scala or other JVM languages

• 3 years of experience with functional programming paradigms and ecosystems (e.g., Scala Cats, ZIO)

• Proficient in professional English, both verbal and written

• Preferred: 3 years of experience in developing and supporting scalable, distributed backend services

• Preferred: 3 years of experience working with SQL and relational databases

• Preferred: Proficient in professional Polish, both verbal and written
