This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee updates to the IPaC website application architecture for the integration of new species data.
• Design and implement API connections between the consultation application and the cloud data platform.
• Facilitate species data retrieval processes for consultation workflows.
• Implement functionality for species display, including habitat designations, listing statuses, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop updates for programmatic consultation logic alignment and joint agency consultation handling.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining the demo environment for governmental demonstrations.
• Address application-layer defects identified during interoperability testing.
• Deliver integration components for the IPaC UI and the Logic Update Package at the application layer.
• Carry out platform-side integration updates to support new DKey content and consultation package assembly workflows.
• Perform production cutover application deployment activities in accordance with the approved migration playbook.
• Document application maintenance procedures and incident response protocols in the Final Operational Playbooks.
• Bachelor's degree with 8 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience, or an Associate's degree with 10 years of professional experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 12 years of professional experience.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on federal application integration.
• Experience in designing and implementing REST API integrations between federal applications and cloud data platforms.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or similar backend development languages.
• Experience using Git or equivalent version control systems for managing and deploying federal application code.
• Knowledge of federal software development standards and FedRAMP-compliant deployment processes.
• Familiarity with Section 508/WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards in federal application development.
• Understanding of federal IT governance frameworks and platform constraint management.
• Preferred: Experience with the IPaC platform or comparable federal environmental decision support systems.
• Preferred: Familiarity with DKey systems or consultation package builder platforms.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Databricks or cloud data lakehouse API integration.
• Preferred: Awareness of integration testing frameworks or API contract testing tools like Postman or SoapUI.
• Preferred: Experience with Agile/iterative software development methodologies in federal programs.
• Preferred: Experience within DOI, FWS, or NOAA Fisheries IT environments.
