Senior Software Engineer – Performance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and sustain internal tools and services, mainly within legacy systems.

• Assist in architectural decisions, including ways to gradually modernize and enhance current platforms.

• Execute high-revenue projects where reliability, accuracy, and performance are critical.

• Work collaboratively with stakeholders across engineering and business to grasp needs and convey progress.

• Enhance the maintainability, testing, and observability of existing codebases.

• Produce clear technical documentation and share knowledge with the team.

• Engage in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to elevating the engineering standards.

• Deliver significant improvements to legacy platforms and take responsibility for at least one service or component.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, focusing on building and deploying production software.

• Proficient in software architecture, including system design and making informed technical trade-offs.

• Comfortable working with and enhancing legacy codebases.

• Strong foundational programming skills and the ability to quickly learn new languages and tools.

• Familiarity with Scala and/or Python.

• Experience in developing services or APIs utilized by other engineers or internal teams.

• Excellent communication skills and confidence in managing high-visibility projects.

• Experience in leading or contributing to modernization or migration efforts for legacy systems (preferred).

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), containers, and CI/CD pipelines (preferred).
