Senior Software Engineer, Node

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Guide the technical direction, architectural decisions, and code quality standards for the Node sub-team.

• Architect solutions for the frontend, mobile, and backend platforms, focusing on component design, rendering strategies, state management, service/API structures, and relational/document data modeling.

• Create documentation of architectural decisions for stakeholders.

• Develop and implement intricate frontend and mobile features utilizing React, TypeScript, Next.js, and React Native.

• Build and execute complex Next.js API routes and Node.js backend services.

• Oversee API design, authentication/authorization, caching, and database design and access.

• Offer daily technical leadership to the Node sub-team.

• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.

• Establish and uphold Node coding standards.

• Take ownership of performance optimization, testing strategies, and CI/CD pipeline governance.

• Ensure the development of secure, high-availability, HIPAA-compliant frontend and mobile applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 7 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on frontend technologies.

• Profound, demonstrable expertise in React, TypeScript, and Next.js within production environments.

• Senior-level experience with React Native/Expo for mobile development.

• Robust Node.js backend capabilities.

• Familiarity with relational and document database design.

• Candidates must reside within the Eastern or Central time zones.

• Attendance at an in-person interview at the Dallas headquarters is required for finalists.

• A dedicated work area separate from other living spaces is necessary to ensure information privacy.

• Ability to maintain security for all company-sensitive documents.

• Must have access to a location with reliable high-speed internet service.

• Preferred: 10+ years of professional experience in frontend and full-stack development.

• Preferred: Background in healthcare technology, health insurance, or other regulated industries.

• Preferred: Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7 FHIR, X12, NCPDP) as they relate to frontend rendering.

• Preferred: Experience with GraphQL Federation/tRPC, monorepo tooling, and relational/document schema design.
