
Senior Software Engineer – Networking, C/C++, DPDK/VPP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create and develop networking software across various layers including data path, control plane, forwarding, and protocols.
• Construct packet processing pipelines and seamlessly integrate them with Network ASICs, VPP, and DPDK.
• Design and improve SD-WAN data-path features, which encompass IPsec, firewall, WAN selection, secure web gateways, zone-based firewalls, and stateful firewall functionalities.
• Engage with DPI, VPN, QoS, and other data-path technologies, prioritizing performance and optimized packet processing.
• Develop and integrate networking components within cloud-native settings utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, distributed systems, message buses, and gRPC.
• Enhance and integrate open-source and third-party networking and infrastructure components.
• Independently diagnose issues and enhance production systems.
• Collaborate with distributed teams situated across various locations and time zones.
• Over 5 years of substantial experience in developing networking software, especially in areas related to data-path, forwarding, or packet-processing components.
• In-depth understanding of data center networking and the development of networking stacks.
• Practical experience with C/C++, demonstrating the ability to write optimized, performance-oriented code.
• Familiarity with DPDK, VPP, or comparable data-path technologies.
• Knowledge of networking and security technologies including IPsec, VPN, DPI, QoS, firewalls, and SD-WAN.
• Experience with Linux/Unix system programming, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Comprehension of distributed systems, message buses, and gRPC.
• Preferred: Experience with Golang and microservices architecture.
• Preferred: Background in programmable packet-processing pipelines and CNF/VNF technologies.
• Preferred: Exposure to working with Broadcom or other Network ASICs.
• Preferred: Familiarity with CNCF technologies and cloud-native networking.
• Preferred: Experience in integrating networking solutions with security providers like Zscaler or Palo Alto Cloud NGFW.
