Senior Software Engineer – MCU

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of features from the technical design phase to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support in production.

• Develop and enhance APIs, backend services, and distributed microservice architectures.

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, and overall database performance for large-scale applications.

• Create, maintain, and troubleshoot systems driven by Kafka events.

• Develop and optimize Elasticsearch indexes, mappings, search queries, and performance for high-volume search workloads.

• Deploy, monitor, and support applications operating in Kubernetes, including Helm charts, CronJobs, autoscaling, and troubleshooting in production.

• Contribute to AWS-based cloud infrastructure and collaborate on Spark and EMR data workflows.

• Build and maintain scalable full-stack applications utilizing React for the frontend and NestJS for the backend.

• Engage in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews.

• Assist in establishing engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Enhance system reliability, observability, scalability, operational performance, and infrastructure efficiency.

• Provide mentorship to teammates through technical leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering, focusing on building scalable, production-grade applications.

• Proficient in troubleshooting Kafka-based event-driven systems, including producers, consumers, consumer groups, replay strategies, and recovery from failures.

• Experienced in designing and developing APIs, distributed microservices, and event-driven systems utilizing Kafka.

• Skilled in full-stack development with TypeScript and Node.js, demonstrating a history of delivering customer-facing products from start to finish.

• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, encompassing database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning for high-volume applications.

• Proven capability in building and managing cloud-native applications using Kubernetes, AWS, and modern CI/CD methodologies.

• Familiar with implementing and optimizing search functionalities using Elasticsearch.

• Strong grasp of software architecture, distributed systems, scalability, and performance optimization.

• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives.

• Experience with Python/PySpark or similar technologies for supporting data processing workflows is preferred.

• Knowledgeable in Golang.

• Familiarity with building AI-powered applications or integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic), as well as understanding RAG architectures or modern AI frameworks like LangChain or Vercel AI SDK is a plus.

• Willingness to work hours that align with East Coast hours in the US and adjust schedules as necessary.

• Availability to work until 10:30 PM IST.
