Senior Software Engineer, Build Loop

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Create and establish Nest.js service frameworks for new backend services within Webflow’s advanced monorepo.

• Develop paved paths, generators, and foundational elements for new services.

• Construct interfaces that allow new services to operate independently from the existing monolith.

• Take ownership of the deployment processes for services and web applications on Cloudflare, ensuring interoperability with AWS and Kubernetes via Pulumi and Argo CD.

• Lead the migration of significant codebases into the monorepo and create reproducible migration strategies.

• Collaborate with product teams as platform customers, using their experiences and challenges to inform priorities.

• Translate insights into tools, generators, and workflows assisted by agents.

• Engage in engineering citizenship activities, which include co-authoring engineering blogs, enhancing hiring processes, and guiding internal hackathon teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in building and managing backend services in a production environment.

• Proven experience in the design of backend services, defining service boundaries, contracts, and data ownership.

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English at a business level.

• Experience navigating within a large, tightly-coupled codebase while incrementally extracting or bypassing functionality under behaviour-preserving contracts.

• Proficient in TypeScript and Node.

• Comfortable with edge runtimes.

• Practical experience with large-scale monorepo tooling, such as Nx or Turborepo.

• Knowledge of build-graph correctness.

• Experience in migration engineering, verifying generated outputs, and performing bug-for-bug translations.

• Experience collaborating with product teams as platform customers.

• Comfortable working across cloud environments and assessing latency and costs.

• Strong skills in written technical communication.

• Proactive in the adoption and application of AI and emerging technologies.

• Valid right-to-work authorization based on the country of employment.
