Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deliver high-performance cloud services that serve as the foundational decision-making engine of SailPoint’s identity platform.

• Create robust full-stack solutions utilizing Golang and Angular.

• Develop synchronous and event-driven microservices.

• Innovate AI-assisted and agentic development workflows.

• Collaborate effectively with product managers, UX designers, architects, and engineering teams globally.

• Convert intricate identity governance concepts into efficient, elegant, and secure production systems.

• Uphold technical excellence through architecture reviews, system profiling, and mentoring developers.

• Establish technical specifications and preliminary estimates for roadmap projects.

• Construct, test, and deploy comprehensive features for real-time and batch policy evaluation processes.

• Conduct code reviews and contribute to unit and integration testing strategies.

• Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of complex features across the Policy Engine and SailPoint Agentic Fabric.

• Set benchmarks for debugging and performance profiling to enhance latency, throughput, and system reliability.

• Engage in a 24x7 on-call rotation, roughly one week every 20, and promote operational enhancements.

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert on Policy Engine services and distributed system architecture.

• Mentor junior and mid-level software engineers.

• Propel cross-functional architectural initiatives alongside engineering teams worldwide.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 8 years of professional software development experience.

• Demonstrated expertise in backend microservice design and development, ideally using Golang.

• Strong proficiency in developing modern web frontends, preferably with Angular.

• Solid understanding of automated testing and debugging, including unit, integration, and performance profiling tools.

• Experience in designing and maintaining scalable microservices in a distributed SaaS cloud environment.

• Exceptional collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Familiarity with tech stack including Golang, Angular, Java, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CloudBees/Jenkins.

• Practical experience with cloud databases such as Amazon DynamoDB, Aurora, or Snowflake.

• Experience in building data streaming and event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka or Apache Flink.

• Interest in or experience with AI-assisted software development and agentic engineering practices.

• Willingness to interview in person.

• Ability to participate in a 24x7 engineering on-call support rotation.
