Senior Software Engineer – Laravel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services utilizing Laravel.

• Create, enhance, and manage RESTful APIs.

• Construct scalable, secure, and maintainable backend functionalities.

• Deliver assigned features punctually while fulfilling both technical and business requirements.

• Recognize technical hurdles early and collaborate with the team to address them.

• Develop solutions that integrate with AWS services.

• Assist with integrations involving external platforms and systems.

• Adhere to best practices for testing, deployment, security, and application performance.

• Contribute to CI/CD processes and DevOps efforts.

• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and QA teams to deliver comprehensive product features.

• Engage in planning sessions, estimations, and team discussions.

• Communicate project updates, technical challenges, and suggestions effectively.

• Clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Produce and maintain API and technical documentation.

• Document technical designs, implementation choices, and key insights.

• Participate in retrospectives to enhance engineering processes.

• Support production systems by troubleshooting issues and implementing enhancements.

• Share knowledge and foster a collaborative learning environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in developing backend applications using Laravel or comparable PHP frameworks.

• Proficient in constructing and maintaining backend services, workers, and scheduled processes.

• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with working on and extending existing production codebases.

• Capability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.

• Practical knowledge of AWS services.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.

• Background in CI/CD processes and deployment pipelines.

• Strong understanding of relational databases and backend architecture.

• Awareness of DevOps principles and deployment best practices.

• Familiarity with POS system integrations is advantageous.

• Knowledge of secure coding practices and API security.

• Experience in code reviews and collaborative development.

• Keen interest in AI-assisted development tools and emerging technologies.

• Experience in Agile development environments is a plus.

• Ability to manage multiple development tasks while balancing stakeholder expectations.
