Senior Software Engineer, Kubernetes Runtime

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop Go controllers and APIs for the installation, upgrading, and validation of GPU cluster software

• Integrate various components, establish API contracts, and advance Helm and Argo CD delivery towards controller-driven automation

• Create validation pipelines that guide release decisions across different providers and GPU platforms

• Design systems to distribute GPU capacity during validation runs while considering cloud reservations and quotas

• Enhance qualification efficiency through the implementation of reusable tests and comprehensive failure reports

• Onboard new providers and GPU hardware into production environments

• Address integration failures in collaboration with partner teams

• Transform initial provisioning, upgrading, and operational checks into automated processes

• Work collaboratively with Runtime, Release Engineering, and Provider Integration teams

• Shape the production landscape within NVIDIA's GPU cloud infrastructure

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in building production infrastructure software or distributed systems

• Proficient programming skills in Go or another language suitable for building production systems, with a preference for Go

• Experience with Kubernetes and expertise in at least one area: controllers and operators, release automation, test and validation systems, or cloud integration

• Proven track record of delivering engineering projects, diagnosing intricate failures, and collaborating across teams

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Familiarity with controller-runtime, CRDs, and reconcilers is advantageous but not mandatory

• Experience in release qualification across various environments or platforms is beneficial but not essential

• Knowledge of GPU infrastructure, accelerated networking, or GPU scheduling is advantageous but not required

• Background in bringing new hardware, regions, or cloud providers into production is beneficial but not essential

• Experience with resource allocation, leasing, fair-share scheduling, upstream integration, compatibility, or software supply chain integrity is beneficial but not essential
