Senior Software Engineer, Java Backend, AppSec, DevSecOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Address vulnerabilities within applications

• Offer ongoing support and maintenance for legacy systems

• Upgrade legacy applications, including the transition from Java 8 to Java 21

• Conduct independent investigations into issues

• Suggest viable solutions

• Manage the complete delivery process

• Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Java Batch processes

• Execute applications and resolve issues in Kubernetes environments

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Java Backend/JVM, legacy systems, debugging, and library management

• Practical experience in addressing AppSec vulnerabilities, including code injection and insecure deserialization

• Familiarity with Maven/Gradle, transitive dependency analysis, mvn dependency:tree, dependencyManagement, and excluding at-risk libraries

• Experience in configuring, running, maintaining, and troubleshooting Java Batch processes

• Understanding of Java version upgrades and compatibility assessments between Java 8 and newer versions

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including application execution and troubleshooting

• Knowledge of DevSecOps methodologies and familiarity with delivery pipelines

• Experience in migrating applications from Java 8 to Java 21

• Understanding of Rancher

• Experience with Checkmarx or similar security tools

• Proficiency in CI/CD and automation practices

• Previous roles as an AppSec Engineer or Senior Java Developer with a security emphasis

• Utilization of AI tools in development and vulnerability management
