Senior Software Engineer – Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, and deliver intricate application features.

• Establish high technical and software standards within the team.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, promoting technical growth, ongoing learning, and clean coding practices.

• Influence the agile delivery lifecycle from architecture refinement and epic definition to production releases.

• Take responsibility for non-functional requirements related to application health, system resilience, security, and performance at scale.

• Assess emerging industry trends, AI tools, and elastic cloud technologies, implementing innovative solutions.

• Integrate secure development practices and vulnerability mitigation strategies into the continuous delivery pipeline.

• Collaborate with product management, cross-functional engineering teams, and external vendor partners to align technical strategies with business goals.

• Offer strategic tier-3 support for production systems.

• Effectively manage priorities and time.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, architecture, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).

• At least 6 years in a technical software development position with a proven track record of advancing into senior-level technical leadership.

• Over 4 years of extensive experience in architecting and developing enterprise Java applications utilizing the Spring Framework.

• Thorough experience with automated testing.

• Significant experience in designing, building, securing, and maintaining scalable RESTful microservices and API ecosystems.

• Advanced proficiency with AWS or Azure.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes or ECS/Fargate, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and CloudFormation or Terraform.

• Demonstrated expertise in database design, complex SQL optimization, and effective ORM/data access management.

• Experience leading the architectural lifecycle of major production-grade features from conception to deployment.

• Strong knowledge of system design patterns, distributed systems architecture, microservices, and clean code principles.

• In-depth understanding of secure development practices, security testing methodologies, and vulnerability resolution using tools such as Snyk or Qualys.

• A strong inclination towards CI/CD automation, DevOps principles, performance tuning, and proactive system monitoring.

• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to mentor team members and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
