Senior Software Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, maintain, and review backend applications and services utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Create and sustain RESTful APIs and scalable backend solutions.

• Develop and support applications based on a microservices architecture.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design technical solutions, and deliver new features.

• Engage in technical discussions, presentations, architecture decisions, and backend development initiatives.

• Utilize Kafka for event-driven and distributed application architectures.

• Work with PostgreSQL, including the design and optimization of complex SQL queries.

• Implement and maintain data persistence using JPA.

• Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

• Analyze and enhance application performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Contribute to code reviews and provide constructive feedback to uphold high engineering standards.

• Adhere to SDLC and CI/CD processes and contribute to the ongoing improvement of development and deployment practices.

• Collaborate within an Agile team environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience with Java, demonstrating strong hands-on expertise in Spring Web, Spring Boot, REST APIs, application security, and microservices architecture.

• Solid understanding of software design patterns, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong experience with Kafka, Elasticsearch or SOLR, AWS, JPA, and PostgreSQL.

• Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.

• Proficient with IntelliJ IDEA, Git (GitHub/GitLab), JIRA, Docker, and Maven.

• In-depth understanding of SDLC and CI/CD processes.

• Availability to work until 3:00 PM CST.

• Upper-Intermediate proficiency in English.
