
Senior Software Engineer II – Ads Manager, Front End

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of the technical direction for the Ads Manager frontend and spearhead significant, multi-quarter projects.
• Direct the technical roadmap and architecture for web applications related to Ads Manager.
• Create, develop, and sustain React user interfaces for the purposes of campaign creation, management, reporting, and optimization.
• Establish and refine shared components, state management, and frontend abstractions.
• Collaborate with backend teams to define API and data contracts.
• Work together with frontend leaders and colleagues across the company to uphold frontend standards and best practices.
• Advocate for observability, performance, and reliability, incorporating metrics, logging, tracing, and readiness for on-call duty.
• Advance frontend modernization, address technical debt, and oversee migrations and refactors.
• Integrate security-by-design principles and manage responses to critical security or reliability challenges.
• Lead cross-team projects and align stakeholders from Ads and partner teams.
• Collaborate with designers to create a premier user experience.
• Mentor and support engineers up to L5 while enhancing onboarding and team practices.
• Assist in defining best practices for tools that facilitate AI-assisted development.
• Over 8 years of experience in developing modern web applications.
• Extensive knowledge in Node.js and React, including hooks, state management, and performance optimization.
• Strong skills in frontend architecture: modularization, shared components, routing, data fetching, and error handling.
• Experience in designing and integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Proven track record of leading large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects from conception through to rollout and ongoing operations.
• Demonstrated ability to enhance team productivity and code quality through abstractions, tooling, testing, and continuous integration improvements.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools for web applications, such as Datadog or similar platforms.
• Comfortable utilizing AI-assisted development tools.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
• Must be eligible to work from Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, or Nova Scotia, Canada.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with large-scale, data-intensive UIs, scaling GraphQL, Selenium/Cypress/Playwright, frontend performance and reliability, major migrations, Figma, and mentoring engineers from L3 to L5.
