This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the design of reusable, scalable systems across off-platform workflows, cleanrooms, taxonomy automation, and the Ads Data Solutions Platform.
• Enhance core abstractions, testing, CI/CD, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Initiate and promote engineering projects, align stakeholders, and manage dependencies effectively.
• Strengthen and expand external advertising platform integrations.
• Create privacy-centric activation and identity workflows.
• Construct measurement ingestion pipelines for reach, frequency, and conversion metrics.
• Advance cleanroom orchestration and governance tools.
• Develop reusable query templates and partner configurations.
• Optimize data pipelines for both cost and performance.
• Oversee Ads Taxonomy intake automation and enhance release workflows.
• Contribute to platform modernization, developer tools, on-call processes, and SLO strategy.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools for design, coding, testing, and documentation.
• Transform ambiguous requirements into phased deliveries with well-defined SLAs/SLOs.
• Advocate for security-by-design, data governance, and privacy compliance.
• Mentor engineers up to L5 and establish standards for code quality and reviews.
• Foster collaborations across Ads Manager, Measurement Science, Data Platform, Privacy/Legal, and external platforms.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, typically 10+ years for this position.
• Proven experience in delivering and operating large-scale backend/data systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-team projects and make architectural decisions.
• Proficiency in Python and one of Ruby or Go.
• Familiarity with REST/gRPC services and third-party API integrations.
• Experience with DBT, Airflow, Spark/Databricks, advanced SQL, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of Snowflake and AWS.
• Experience with workflow orchestration and event-driven design patterns.
• Background in ad-tech/programmatic and measurement integrations.
• Expertise in cleanrooms, identity/matching, and deconfliction.
• Understanding of GDPR/CCPA privacy and compliance regulations.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, testing, observability, incident preparedness, and SLOs.
• Recent hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience in defining reusable AI prompts/workflows and contributing to AI-enabled tools or automation.
• Ability to assess AI versus deterministic systems, including evaluation, guardrails, and implications for security/privacy.
• Strong technical writing, stakeholder management, consensus-building, and execution skills.
