Senior Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and sustain scalable, thoroughly tested dbt data models that drive analytics across the domains of commercial, marketing, health outcomes, and clinical operations.

• Serve as a senior technical authority within the analytics engineering team, establishing standards for data modeling, testing, documentation, and code quality.

• Lead the comprehensive delivery of analytical projects, which includes defining requirements, managing dependencies, identifying critical paths and risks, and updating stakeholders on progress.

• Guide data scientists and analysts in data modeling skills while fostering a culture of best practices, code reviews, and continuous learning within the data team.

• Collaborate with clinical, commercial, and product teams to convert intricate domain requirements into solid, well-documented data models.

• Assess, test, and advocate for AI-driven analytics tools, influencing Numan's strategic approach to new technologies and their company-wide adoption.

• Enhance data quality, reliability, and governance throughout the transformation layer, actively monitoring usage and addressing issues before they affect stakeholders.

• Report to the Head of Data Engineering and work closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or business intelligence roles.

• Demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end data model design across various business domains, ideally covering at least two of the following: commercial, marketing, health outcomes, or clinical/operational analytics.

• Strong skills in stakeholder management, with the ability to convey complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences, including clinical and commercial teams.

• Experience in establishing technical standards and delivering exceptional work within a small, high-performing data team.

• Self-driven and practical, with a keen focus on high-impact solutions rather than unnecessary complexity.

• A genuine interest in AI and emerging analytics technologies, with a commitment to shaping Numan's adoption of these innovations.

• Expert-level SQL proficiency, including window functions, CTEs, advanced aggregations, and cloud warehouse-specific optimizations.

• Extensive knowledge of dbt, encompassing models, macros, tests, packages, documentation, exposures, and CI/CD.
