Senior Software Engineer, Identity & Regulatory Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the entire customer journey, from lead generation to onboarding and activation through the Paxos Dashboard and Identity APIs.

• Analyze the onboarding funnel to pinpoint drop-off points and friction, and conduct experiments aimed at minimizing time-to-activation.

• Design, develop, and manage backend services related to KYC/KYB, identity verification, screening, and identity lifecycle management.

• Leverage AI to streamline compliance tasks, including document reviews, case triage, and risk assessments.

• Manage integrations with external identity and screening vendors, focusing on asynchronous workflows and webhooks.

• Incorporate GDPR erasure and PII-handling features into the platform.

• Create design documentation, guide technical decisions, mentor colleagues, and participate in on-call duties.

• Work collaboratively with Product, Compliance, and identity vendor teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing production backend systems.

• At least 1 year of experience in a senior role.

• Strong expertise in Go, Java, or Python, with a preference for Go.

• Proven experience in designing APIs and data models for sensitive or regulated information.

• Ability to prioritize conversion, activation, and time-to-value results.

• Skilled at translating vague requirements from non-engineering stakeholders into precise technical plans.

• Proficient in utilizing AI tools on a daily basis.

• Bonus: Familiarity with identity, KYC/AML, or onboarding systems.

• Bonus: Experience with growth engineering or experimentation methodologies.

• Bonus: Background in implementing LLM features into production environments.
