Senior Software Engineer I – Agentic Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create and develop production systems utilizing Go, while also engaging with React and TypeScript as necessary.

• Enhance agent execution, tool utilization, context management, streaming, and long-duration workflows.

• Expand the provider-agnostic architecture in response to evolving models and capabilities.

• Establish dependable integrations between agents, workspaces, tools, and developer infrastructure.

• Take ownership of projects from their initial implementation to rollout and subsequent iterations.

• Participate in design reviews, code evaluations, and technical discussions.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to transform agent capabilities into valuable developer experiences.

• Increase the reliability, performance, and operability of agentic systems.

• Develop and advance systems that support Coder’s agentic development experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and managing production software systems.

• Practical experience with Go programming language.

• Familiarity with React and TypeScript.

• Experience in constructing systems centered around LLMs or agentic workflows.

• Knowledge of model APIs, tool invocation, context management, or agent loops.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and the principles of production reliability.

• Working familiarity with AWS.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and comfort navigating technical uncertainties.

• Experience with coding agents, developer tools, or cloud development environments (a plus).

• Familiarity with MCP, agent tools, or multi-agent systems (a plus).

• Experience with remote execution, sandboxing, or isolated computing (a plus).

• Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, or Linux (a plus).

• Contributions to open-source projects or direct customer engagement experience (a plus).

• Position must be based in the Eastern Time zone.
